Monitored by Municipal Environmental Office
Monitored by Municipal Environmental Office The most modern flight path and flight alarm control systems have been installed at t eh airport in collaboration with the City of Salzburg.

An analysis and information system has been successfully developed based on the extensive preparation by the team of city environmental technicians, airport specialists and the Danish manufacturer and which has also been adapted to Salzburg's highly sensitive environmental situation.

It is now possible to control and trace back every single flight movement of the entire air traffic. There are now approx 825 million individual sound parameters a month which can be utilized to assess the whole airports noise emissions. This makes it possible to carry out a statistical evaluation of the individual incidents, hours, days, weekends or months. The flight security system provides the secondary data for the flight path recording according to the contract whilst the consistently recorded noise data from the 5 control points is delivered every second. The city has a direct connection to this radar system as does the airport. This makes it possible to clearly order the individual flight movements with the noise incident.

As far as passing official information to the public (Environment Information Law) the environmental measuring system already described makes it also possible for the city to provide 100% objective data for the evaluation of the effect of noise on the city's inhabitants.
