Free and Hand Luggage
The weight and size of your luggage is limited. You will find the correct information on your flight confirmation. Some airlines charge for luggage!

Free Luggage:
You can normally take 20 kgs of free luggage on a charter flight. If you travel Economy Class on a scheduled flight it is 20kgs and 30 kgs for Business Class. Excess luggage will be charged.

Hand Luggage / cabin baggage:
New safety regulations on hand luggage! Generally you may only take one piece of cabin baggage on board (on a scheduled flight between 7 and 10 kg depending on the airline and often only 5 kgs on a charter flight) which has maximum permitted size of throughout the EU to 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm. You may not carry any sharp objects like scissors, nail files, razor blades, knives or the like. You should put them in your normal luggage.

Prams and Buggies can be handed over to the ground staff next to the aircraft steps if you announce this at the check in.

Bulky Luggage:
Golf bags, Surf boards, bicycles, diving gear and the like are classified as bulky luggage and should be registered on booking the ticket. Airlines calculate various fees for bulky luggage, which have to be paid at the check-in desk. As soon as the bulky luggage has been checked in you can take it to the bulky items belt in the check-in hall where it will be transported to the aircraft by our personnel.
Please make sure that each piece of luggage is well packed and has your address visibly attached (destination and home address). Salzburg Airport Ltd provides you with luggage trolleys to help you transport your bulky luggage free of charge.
If your luggage is damaged or lost please go to the Lost & Found counter of your Airline in the arrival hall.
