Winter Season at Salzburg Airport: A series of Inaugurals in December [05.12.2006]
Several new scheduled flight connections to Salzburg will be launched during the month of December, marking the beginnning of the 2006/07 winter ski season.

British Airways celebrated their inaugural Gatwick flight on December1st, and more airlines will follow suit during the coming weeks.

The current winter schedule as published by Salzburg Airport shows a total of nine new destinations previously not served from Salzburg. The list of new destinations includes Doncaster-Sheffield, Nottingham East Midlands, Exeter, Leeds-Bradford, Leipzig, Liverpool, London-Gatwick, Paris-Orly and Reykjavik.

  • Norwegian started its Oslo operations on Dec. 9th.
  • HLX will inauguate the new Leipzig flights on Dec. 15th.
  • Aer Lingus operates three times weekly from Dublin starting Dec. 12th.
  • JET2 is a totally new airline at Salzburg operating a winter seasonal flight from Leeds-Bradford commencing Dec.16th.
    Dec. 16th is also the inaugural day for two additional flights to Salzburg by GB Airways (Manchester) and FlyBe (Exeter).
  • Ryanair will celebrate a double inaugural with the new flights from Nottingham (Dec.18th) and Liverpool (Dec.19th).
